Donizetti Education is a project that grows from the belief that theatre and music are privileged spaces for discovery, learning, and beauty.
The core of our activities is Gaetano Donizetti: an artist whose talent, born in Bergamo, has spoken to the world. His works guide us along a path designed to help young people discover themselves through artistic experiences that spark emotions, reflections, and aspirations.
CHILDREN’S SCHOOL
For the 2025-2026 school year, we look forward to welcoming all the boys and girls from preschool to the unmissable Tano di Lammermoor and Gaetano Gioppino e l’elisir d’amore — puppet shows by Daniele Cortesi, an artist and craftsman from Bergamo, who brings every story to life with his magical creations. In addition, a musician from the Fondazione Teatro Donizetti will hold a workshop in all participating schools, before welcoming everyone to the theatre in spring!
PRIMARY AND LOWER SECONDARY SCHOOL
New for boys and girls in primary and lower secondary schools: an interactive show dedicated to mad love, an adaptation of Donizetti’s opera Il furioso nell’isola di S. Domingo (The Madman on the Island of St. Domingo), with a title that is already a story in itself, Il furioso Gaetano nell’isola di S. Domingo Ovvero le mirabolanti memorie d’un musicista visionario (The Furious Gaetano on the Island of St. Domingo, or the Amazing Memoirs of a Visionary Musician), in addition to interactive shows with Daniele Cortesi’s puppets, Tano di Lammermoor and Gaetano Gioppino e l’elisir d’amore (Gaetano Gioppino and the Elixir of Love).
HIGH SCHOOL
A comprehensive programme has been designed for secondary schools, starting with the inauguration of the 2025-2026 school year with Orchestra Vibes, a concert that is also an encounter with music and a story about the power of playing together. This is an important event that explores orchestral music through various eras.
