For the 2025-2026 school year, we have come up with an even more varied and structured programme for secondary schools.
We are kicking off the year with Orchestra Vibes, a concert that is also an encounter with music and a story about the power of playing together, conducted by Marcello Corti and featuring the Bergamo Conservatory Orchestra. This is an important event, which after several years with Lucia Off, this year focuses on orchestral music and takes us on a journey through music from every era.
Tradition returns with previews of the Donizetti Opera festival, always preceded by a classroom meeting: Caterina Cornaro, conducted by Riccardo Frizza and directed by Francesco Micheli, staged at the Teatro Donizetti; Il furioso nell’isola di S. Domingo, conducted by Alessandro Palumbo and directed by Manuel Renga, also at the Teatro Donizetti; Il campanello and Deux hommes et une femme, a diptych conducted by Enrico Pagano and directed by Stefania Bonfadelli, at the Teatro Sociale in the Upper Town.
There will also be interactive workshops, such as Qui Lucia at the Teatro Donizetti, which is part gaming, part guided tour: an activity that not only allows participants to discover the places featured in Lucia di Lammermoor in the theatre, but also to handle original archive material in an exciting team game.
Among the unmissable events, on 24 and 25 January, there will be an exhibition featuring the students’ artistic interpretations following the previews.
We also look forward to welcoming all teachers on 18 October for an intensive training day at the Teatro Donizetti, in collaboration with the Ufficio Scolastico Territoriale.
Finally, on 21 May, there will be the Donizetti Academy, a morning dedicated to theatre professions, with free workshops and a show staged by the boys and girls participating in the project.
