Iconographic Workshop and Interactive Visit

Qui Lucia

PRIMARY AND LOWER SECONDARY SCHOOLS

Iconographic Workshop led by Clelia Epis
Visit led by Maria Teresa Galati

DESCRIPTION

The Foundation’s iconographic archive is open to educational projects.
The one on Lucia di Lammermoor is particularly impressive in terms of quality and scope… in short, Lucia is special here!
The extensive collection of iconographic material allows visitors to reconstruct the visual world associated with such an iconic performance, through iconographic comparisons and other insights.
A tour of the theatre spaces linked to Lucia di Lammermoor and the great protagonists who brought it to the stage is planned, with an interactive workshop.
During the workshop, original materials will be displayed: a real bonus for children and audiences now accustomed only to digital reproductions.
It will certainly be exciting to come into contact with unique pieces that can be appreciated in their dimensions, in the specificity of their materials, and in the history they carry, marked by the passage of time.

  • PRIMARY SCHOOL WORKSHOP

After a brief presentation of the opera, during the workshop participants (in the form of a game) are invited to reconstruct the plot of Lucia di Lammermoor and recognise the characters through the use of archive images. This is followed by a reworking through the choice of keywords and the production of an original commentary on the large book dedicated to collecting Le voci di Lucia (The Voices of Lucia).

  • SECONDARY SCHOOL WORKSHOP

After a brief presentation of the work, during the workshop participants (in the form of a timed game) are invited to reconstruct the plot (through sketches and stage photos) of Lucia di Lammermoor and recognise the characters through the use of archive images. The game continues with questions about the characters’ relationships, connections, family and roles. There is also an interesting exercise on the productions that have given life to Lucia di Lammermoor over the years, encouraging the students to notice how the sets, staging and acting have changed over the decades. This is followed by a reworking of the piece through the choice of keywords and the production of an original commentary on the large book dedicated to collecting Le voci di Lucia (The Voices of Lucia).
